Totalspan Process
Totalspan Process
Our expert team can help you through the building process - or you can do it all yourself, with our great kitset option. Talk to your local Totalspan team about your requirements.
The Quote
We start by listening to your needs and offering advice on council requirements and site planning. We will follow up with a free, and very competitive, quote.
Building Consent
Once the contract is signed we then arrange for all necessary building consent approvals, including submitting all applications.
Concrete Foundations and Floor slabs
A concrete specialist will box the foundations and pour the concrete slab.
Site Preparation
An experienced local bobcat operator will remove vegetation and topsoil from the building platform, and place any fill to ensure that the concrete slab is at the right height.
Steel Frames
All Totalspan buildings are fabricated in our Christchurch factory and then assembled on site. A team of builders will spend a few days bolting together the steel portal frames.
Weather Tightness
The next stage is fitting the walls and roof cladding. Then the spouting, barges, ridge capping and various metal flashings and trim are used to finish all Totalspan buildings and resist weather.
Final Inspection
A final inspection is made of the job by your local Totalspan consultant to ensure that it meets the stringent Totalspan quality standards.
Doors
A specialist door installer will then install your roller/sectional doors and connect any auto-openers or chain drives.
